Where our information comes from
Articles signed by Ilgiz are prepared by the Asia Peaks team, with AI tools helping to draft and structure them. The facts come from four places:
- What Ilgiz and our team know first-hand — the trips we run and their prices, Kochkor and his guesthouse, the places in his photos. We only write "I" or "we did" for things Ilgiz has confirmed.
- Open data we process ourselves — climate data from the NASA POWER project, road routes from OpenStreetMap, elevation from SRTM, and astronomical calculations. Each article explains its method.
- Published sources — Wikipedia, official pages, Caravanistan and travel writers. They are listed and linked at the end of every guide.
- Our tour pages — the only prices we quote are the ones we publish.
What we don't do
- No invented stories, guests, quotes or reviews.
- No numbers without a source or our own data behind them.
- No claims we cannot back up: we do not call ourselves licensed or insured, and we do not promise that every departure will run.
How we check
Before anything is published, automatic checks look for claims we cannot support, prices that are not on our tour pages, missing sources, broken links and first-person statements that are not in Ilgiz's confirmed facts. A page that fails is not published.
Photos
Photos of our routes, Kochkor and Ilgiz are his own. Until we have our own photo of every place, some pages use photos from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, credited on the photo and on the photo credits page.
Corrections
Every guide shows the date it was last updated. If you find something wrong or out of date, write to hello@asiapeaks.com — we check it, fix it and update the date.
